Help me out here, i'm looking for a new LCD Widescreen with Component and or Composite input. I've looked on newegg and none really catch my eye except the Samsung 215TW witch is a bit more than i'd like to spend ( <$400). Does the dell 2007WFP have either of these? I know there is controversy about the picture showing component not belonging to the 2007.

So any help here, price range is <$400. What i'm trying to do is get rid of my old ass busted TV, but i don't have all the cash to spend on a new TV. I figure if i can replace my current 19" Widescreen comp monitor with a bigger one that has component/composite inputs i can play my GC on that.

TIA!

Since you say OR composite I think the 2007FPW would suit you fine but the Samsung is rare for such a small screen to have Component and composite/S-video etc. If it was me I would go for the Dell and make sure it was an S-IPS but since it sounds like you're more into video I suggest finding the S-PVA Samsung for as cheap as you can get it for.

artmonkey,
Thanks for the input. I'm seriously thinking about getting the 2007WFP. However, when you say the "S-PVA Samsung" which model are you referring to? The 215TW?

Edit: What about the Gateway FPD2275W. It has Component and Composite, 22" Wide and $389.

Just so you know: Dell uses 1 of 2 panels in its 2007WFP: 1) a Philips S-IPS that is very good and similar to the Apple monitor or 2) a Samsung S-PVA that is inferior but worth $350 with the stand if you aren't that picky about photos and video.. You won't know what your going to get uintil you turn on the monitor (and "No" you cant request one or the other). You'll either get lucky or not.

I thought that might be the case, that's really bad because some people actually want a certain panel. In the case of most people on this forum, all of us do, Dell should not be allowed to do this, it sounds liek it breaks some kind of trade descriptions act. I guess they'd get away with it by saying they don't ever say what panel it is... evil Dell B*******!!!

As far as the Gateway FPD2275W goes, I couldn't say much about it. If you were desperate to get an S-IPS screen I'd suggest the NEC 20WGX2 but in the US you only have the 20WMGX2 which is much more expensive. Although it does have all the video inputs you'd need and a TV tuner which is ace but it's going to be well over your budget =(.

Thanks for the input guys, but after extensive research and contemplating the topic, i decided to just wait another 2wks and buy the 37" westy. I'll need a new desk, but i've just been putting off getting one.

At least with the westy i'll be able to do everything i want and not have to worry about buying a HD TV for a while.
