Can anyone recommend a nice LCD TV for my bedroom? Right now "plasma" is way too expensive to be worth anything under $3,000 so I am looking for a LCD between $1,200 - 1,800.

I saw this one that had a great picture in person but I have never heard of the brand and or know if this is a good price.
 
what size are you looking for? How far do you expect to be from it? Is this for tv/movie watching or will you be using it as a computer monitor/both?
 
I would like between 32" - 42" and I will be about ~9' - 10' from the TV. It is strickly for watching TV/DVD's. No PC's in the bedroom.
 
lcd is cool but I believe dlp is better overall. i got a dlp projector Infocus X1 w/ a nice screen for about 900. it's only a 72" screen lol. works ok even with some light but best in the dark.
 
At 10' away for anything under 42", you might as well just go with EDTV. Your eye won't be able to resolve the difference at that distance and size. Look at a 42" Panny EDTV. The newest commercial models can be had for around $1300 bucks. A plus for EDTV is that standard definition TV tends to look better than it does on an HDTV.
 
yea

considering that you will be using it only for tv/dvd, plasmas should be considered. I think that at least one place will have a 42" plasma for under $1000 on black friday

Another thing I have noticed is that lcds tend to have problems with dark scenes

As he stated, bedrooms and other dark areas aren't the best places to watch LCD TV's.
