I have looked online at sites like Amazon and CNet for a LCD TV for my master beedroom. I right now have a old Sony Trinitron analog unit. It is not even flat screen & takes up way too much room in my small master bedroom.

I was told to look for Samsung LCD's but there is just so much info on the net, it is really hard to make a decision. I also was told to go to my local stores and look for myself however I find that local stores only carry what sells and usually it is cheap stuff as that is what Joe Blow Consumer is going to buy w/o doing a lick of research. People just impulse buy at local stores and they hardly carry decent stuff nor is it set up to look 1/2 decent.

Can you guys point me in the right direction and recommend some models or places to look.

I am looking for a 32-36" LCD.

:) hello !

In the" personal tech " page of the IHT ( International Herald Tribune ) of the 11th of May 2006 , David Pogue gave his readers some advices about how and what to buy among the new LCD or Plasma TV Screens ! :)
In short , I would say :
In order to be able to get all the benefit of the new quality of HD ( high definition ) DVD and TV coming programs , you need to have a HD TV screen of - AT LEAST - 35" width ! A smaller one won't give you all the details quality you should expect from the last improvments in that field !
But a too big screen won't give you the comfort if your TV room at home is too small !
If I were you , I would try to find that page of the IHT, I would and read it carefully !
It seems that shop vendors even don't know anything about that important detail !

ps: Don't hurry up to buy such screen , prices are " falling down " so quickly and quality is improving so quickly too that you could regret your move !
njoy your new " visual " comfort ! ;)
Good ....buy ! and Good Bye ! :)
