im looking at a very resonabily priced 19"LCD, which has dvi and all the features i want except im not sure about the response rate of 25ms. Is this going to be a problem? i dont play heaps of game atm but id like to be able to and know theres not going to be heaps of ghosting. I was thinking that the difference between 25ms and 16ms, can it really be that noticable?
The monitor im looking at is Benq FP951. What to you think?
does anyone know anything about this monitor?
 
can you buy the LCD and try her out for a few days in your home to see how she'll perform?

thats about really the only way to tell if you're gonna be truly happy with something is by trying it out yourself (if possible).

I say this because 51% of the votes could be that the LCD sucks big time while the 49% of the votes could be that its an awesome gaming monitor.

the problem is that 2% of the 51% of the voters could be morons who dont know the difference between north and south so you really couldnt trust their judgement in the first place. :p
 
All I know from reading is that 25ms really isn't that good for gaming. That's why everyone is leaping on the 2001fp at 16ms. Of course 25 may not bother you, just try if you can and make sure the store has a good return policy.
 
Be very careful of specs. Most of the 16ms times you see are for black and white response. The Dell piece not withstanding, specs are not a good way to buy anything as all manufactures get to take those specs in their own factory using their own gear for measurement.

This holds true with audio, speakers and just about anything else, especially computer monitors.

Before I bought my LCD I tried everyone I could. For some odd reason my local CC store had an attack of customer service and allowed me to hook a bunch of different ones up before I bought. I decided on the Envision 9110 and have been totally happy. It has DVI ECT, no dead pixels.

Try it; if you don’t like it it’s returnable. Watch for the Sunday sales, got mine for 579 less an $80 rebate.
