Hello everyone. I have an odd problem I need help with as soon as possible, if anyone is able to help.
I hope you please take the time to read and can follow what I'm about to explain:
I just bought a Viewsonic VX922 LCD monitor but, when supposedly displaying at 1280 res, it actually looks like 1024 res (icons, browser etc. are larger size like on my other CRT monitor set at that size).
It's a 19" monitor, and at 19" at 1280 res, everything should be very small.
It also wont even allow me to change resolutions (larger or smaller) w/o moving everything off-screen to the left, and icons etc. all stay the same size as well even when I do try.
Text and images are grainy and everything generally looks exactly like when you run any monitor below it's recommended resolution in terms of image quality, and size-wise, again, everything is looking as if on 1024 on a 19" monitor.
I called the company, and they've never heard of this happening, nor really knew what to do other than what I already had (which is everything) and just suggested sending it back for a new one.
Does anyone know why this would be happening?
I tried with both the DVI and Analog inputs, and the same thing... everything on the monitor looks like my other CRT monitor when set at 1024 and not 1280 resolution in terms of size, but looks horrible because it's grainy (probably because it's not actually running at it's correct resolution, though my system is detecting at 1280, but something must be wrong) even after trying to install the drivers.
Any ideas? I've done everything and cant figure out why it this is happening.
Oh, and I'm running an X1900XTX vid card.
Believe it or not, the monitor itself would not let my system run BF2! I swear... just plugged in this CRT again, and it loads fine. What is that? Something about the monitor couldn't "handle" it? Sounds odd, I know... but trust me, it was the monitor.
And that was before and after installing the montior's drivers. The screen would go black as if trying to load, I'd get strange flashed of shapes and lines just in places, then back to desktop.
I'm about to send this back, and this CRT monitor is almost dead (extremely blurry - straining to read what I'm typing right now) and would like to get this working if possible.
If anyone can please help me out with this very odd situation, I really thank you ahead of time.
