LCD monitors with thinnest bezel?

I'm looking into a multi-LCD setup, and wondered what LCDs have really thin bezels. Preferably non-TN. I'm still mulling over a mod to remove bezels, but looking at more conventional options as well.

Samsung MD230 monitors are probably the most modern displays that can be called monitors that have ULTRA-Thin Bezels. They make 2 SKU's an x3 and an x6. They are PVA panels at 23" and 1080p.

You could always go LED. LG makes some nice IPS LED monitors at 23 inches. And they are about $230 a piece. I had one and it was probably the thinnest monitor bezel I have used...

Yes I did. But I used Vsync so I didn't notice any input lag or ghosting. I played BC2 and BF2....

Hi william_fontaine,

NEC offers the EX231Wp, which is a thin bezel (14.6mm), WLED backlit PVA panel. It has DisplayPort inputs and goes really well with an Eyefinity 6 card.

Any reviews on the EX231WP yet?

Any other thin bezel monitors out there?

Vsync never improves input lag. At best, it either adds no lag or adds an unnoticeable amount of input lag. At worst, it introduces enormous amounts of input lag.

Vsync also does not help with ghosting.
Vsync syncs the entire frame together so that you don't get screen tearing during fast action.

You're best off just removing the plastic bezels. With most monitors the plastic casing surrounds a metal protective layer, that surrounds the electronics at the back (and still preserves the VESA mount), leaving a thin metal bezel around the edge of the screen.

You don't need to worry about layers of the screen falling off or whatever..

The only tricky part is remounting the controls that will be behind some part of the plastic, somewhere else.

Yeah just after posting this I found out guys are doing this. Definitely what I plan on doing now.

you'll have to share how to do that with us if you're successful, right now im tucking two monitors behind one slightly larger one for my eyefinity setup... with satisfactory results ;)
