I'm looking for a good deal on a single LCD for a friend who will mainly use it for use with apps like Maya, 3d Studio Max, Photoshop CS2, but also a little gaming like WOW. Any suggestions for anything in the $300 or less range?

Is there a certain aspect in an lcd to look for that would be best for that type of use? Not sure if it would differ much from hard core gaming really in needs.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I too am looking for a lcd for doing that same kind of work, but color reproduction is by far the most important thing to me. Price isn't too much of a concern as long as it is still reasonable.

Things that you'll wanna look for in estimated order of importance.
-Native Resolution - satisfactory=1280*1024
-No dead pixels
-Size 17" or larger for Maya
-DVI Connection if your video card has one
-Color Reproduction
-3 Year warranty on backlight
-Other than that maker doesn't really matter too much. And of course remember to calibrate your screen once you get it setup.
