I have a Benq fp937s... the ikey thing seems to be a joke, it doesnt do anything. What now? I have no idea how to calibrate it correctly (never owned an LCD) and everything (especially HardForum because of white text on dark background) seems to be pretty bright.
 
try lowering your display gamma and changing your color profile that could do the trick

Thanks for that tip on the gamma! I had been having trouble with my 710t- it was too bright for office work even at the "text" MagicBright setting, and even with brightness down to 22. It was like looking at a field of snow at high altitude on a sunny day- I needed glacier googles. Now I changed the gamma and every thing is Kool And the Gang. I've even got the brightness up to 32 (MagicBright text setting =28). I'll still do some fiddling to make it perfect, but I now I am sure this monitor will work out. 710t is a good all-around monitor. You can use it for office work for hours and hours. You can play games on it for like 8 hours straight. Black and White movies look perfect. Color movies are fine- but it is an 18 bit panel and I notice some troubles expressing color. To be clear- the movie plays fine- quite watchable- just maybe not quite up to the purist's level.
