I have recently started receiving an error message when trying to print to a 4200 that is attached via parallel to one of our machines here.

When attempting the print, the error reads:
"There was an error found when printing the document "Test Page" to LPT1:. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?

This only happens for ONE user on the computer. If I log in as myself or as another user, the printer works fine. I have tried to remove the printer, readd the printer, update teh driver, try the PCL5e as opposed to PCL6 driver. I have removed the LPT port and let windows 2000 redect it.

I am unsure how to proceed. It works on the same machine via a different user profile, so clearly it is not a hardware issue. Its not a driver issue then. There must be some memory resident program which is causing the error, but I am unsure how to track it down.

I think I got this working.

On the Printer Port under device manager, I selected "enable legacy plug and play detection" as well as changed "neveruse an interupt" to "use any interupt assigned to the port."
