I have no clue about printers. I am looking for a good laser printer, normal black and white for a business, something economical as far as ink.
 
I recommend examining the Brother lineup of laser printers. They tend to be some of the most economical in terms of toner. I have their little HL-2270D model for home use (b&w, wireless, duplexing) and a person can sometimes find them on sale for $80-90. I suspect that may not be rated for the volume needed for a business, though, so you may want to go with something rated for more pages per month.

My wife's office went with one of their color laserjet multi-function machines (MFC9560cdw) because they needed to do b&w, sometimes color, wanted a scanner with a sheetfeeder, and a fax machine. Not bad for under $600. I think we worked it out where B&W printing with their high volume cartridges worked out to about 1.8 cents per page while heavy color printing cost about 10 cents per page. http://www.amazon.com/Brother-MFC95...F8&qid=1340029875&sr=8-1&keywords=MFC-9560CDW

Thanks for the input ive had a few brother printers they are cheap and seem to be good for about a year before they hit the fan.

our business maybe prints about 30 sheets a day (automotive shop)

we have had the HP inkjet 1200 for close to 10 years, still going strong but now every so often it wont print and you will have to remove the power cord and plug it back in

I'll second the 2270D recommendation. A high-capacity toner is good for about 2500 pages or so, and can be had for $40 or so. If your volume is 30 pages a day, it might be a valid pick. Prints darn fast, real life speed is about what is advertised...only thing for the OP's application is that the paper tray only holds 250 pages or so before needing more dropped in.
