Just Dexter them. Rent a boat drop them into the ocean and let the wild life deal with them.

On a serious note, nail gun would be easier than sledgehammer. You might think it will be fun... But after 30 drives it may start taking you two to three whacks to deal enough damage to destroy a drive...
