Laptop to TV?

Yes HDMI is all you need for A/V.

As far as the laptop is concerned, take a look at this: http://www.compusa.com/applications...cm_re=Homepage-_-Spot 03-_-CatId_17_A50-17333

I have the N71JQ-A1 which is a little better, but the N71JQ-XT1 has a faster proc and better price.

With respect to the 2 you listed, I would go with the MSI. I have a MSI netbook and I just bought a MSI laptop for my sister in law. I like their build quality and features as well as ASUS.

HDMI to HDTV works well on both my ASUS and MSI laptops.

Good luck with whatever you choose

Thanks Dave - Tbh, I have pretty much limited my search to MSI, Asus and Toshiba. The N71 you linked isnt bad but I would take a substantial hit in the graphics department for very little savings over the Toshiba. I am torn between the two still...either way I go I figure I win. :)

Toshiba makes great laptops :)
I used to use a Toshiba Satellite series myself. Currently using the Asus U45, it's awesome :D

Once I receive it I will do a short review of it and share my findings...maybe help someone else make a decision, ;)

I have a low cost $399.00 HP laptop that easily connects to my TV with an HDMI cable. Works like a charm.
