Laptop Cpu upgrade

Most likely you can not upgrade it at all. The reason is the processor is most likely soldered directly to the board.

You have the GL40 chipset, which should be capable of 1066 FSB. So the biggest processor you should be able to install is a T9900. This is all a should and possible though. It is not soldered to the bouad though. Its Socket P, so basically any Mobile Core 2 Duo processor should work. Mobile Core 2 Quads may even work.

Again, all shoulds and possibles.

Oh god !! no!! is that for real!!! Jorona!! thank you thank you thank you so much ^-^ u gave me back hope !! i thought i'd be stuck with what i have !! thank you truly!

The big question with $500 laptops available is it worth wile to upgrade a 5+ year old laptop over selling the old laptop and purchasing a new one for less $300 total after the sale of the old one.

I guess you are right .. i actually checked the intel GL40 chipset and found out that the highest speed FSB speed i can go with is 800 MHZ and i will have to change my Memory to DDR3 .. buy a new one is much cheaper i guess!
