Hi guys,

Here's the deal... im in the market for both a new laptop and am in the process of purchasing the 42" 1080p Westy.

I want to set up the 42" in the family room downstairs and keep my main computer upstairs in my office. The best solution is to buy a nice laptop (capable of cutting edge gaming.. im looking at laptops with 7900GS etc..) that I can hook up occasionally to my 42" tv via DVI for gaming.

The Westy native supports 1920x1080 and that's what I want to display. The laptops im looking at from Alienware support 1920x1200. Will I be able to force the laptop to display 1920x1080 on the TV (without a washed out effect im sure you would get on the laptop screen) I want to be able to display a nice clear 1920x1080 at 75hz (the westy can support that) Is this possible or is the TV forced to display what the LCD screen itself is showing?

Also, I would prefer to use a wireless keyboard/mouse instead of the keyboard on the laptop... how do I go about doing this?

For the monitor question, yeah you can run it at that resolution. But the laptop doesn't have to be Alienware, a lot of more lower end laptops can support that resolution too. As for the wireless keyboard and mouse problem, just go down to your local store and buy a wireless combo. It should come with receievers that you can plug into your laptop, and then use the keyboard anywhere you want. It should all be said in the instruction manual on how to set it up.
