I notice the dvd/cd bay is not quite the regular type. I have a soundblaster audigy zx 2 with the front part that normally sits in a 5.25 bay (cd/dvd drive bay). Will it hold in this case? Or will a fan controller that normally goes in a 5.25" bay work on this case?

I don't have one, but from what I've seen (in stores and in reviews), I don't think there's an easy way to use a 5.25" bay device other than a CD/DVD drive in a regular Lanbox because the CD bay covers are 7" (the top bay is a special 7" bay that can fit Thermaltake's motorized retractable 7" LCD screen), and in looking at the pictures of the Lanbox Lite, the 5.25" CD bay covers look normal (despite the 7" upper bay still being there) but I can't tell if they are molded into the front or removable. On the Lite the front is plastic, so I imagine it'd be easy enough to cut, and if that would work the only thing left to worry about would be securing the bay device (i.e. do the screw holes allow mounting a 5.25" bay device far enough forward so that it is flush with the front of the Lanbox Lite case...)

Is the hard drive cage removable?

The one that sits on the bottom of the case in front of the motherboard tray comes out by removing one screww. The FD/HD cage on the side of the optical drive cage is not meant to be removed. The whole optical drive cage comes out of the case as a unit by removing two thumb screws.
