Could someone please tell me if using the internet and playing with the occasional photo would be affected by lag? I'm not sure whether it just affects games. I've heard this problem referred to in Samsung's 244T.
I had a 2405 which lagged pretty good. I noticed right away that my mouse seemed to be moving slowly (molasses mouse). But I got used to that the first day. you will only notice lag where you move and it doesn't respond quickly as you would expect. We are talking milliseconds here so most people will be unaffected unless they are serious gamers.
I hear the "mouse lag" is worse if you are using the usb ports on the side of the monitor. But it could just be you feeling the 40ms of display lag that these panels have.
I very recently purchased an Acer2416Wd, which is the same panel as the 244t, and it has significant input lag. This is especially noticable for me when I have it right next to a CRT.
The latency is unrelated to OS, input device, or application. It does making gaming difficult in twitch genres. It's not something that I'll stop noticing -- this may be because I have my CRT right next to it as a permanent comparison.
Having said that, I don't regret purchasing the monitor at all. It is a pleasure to use for both work and play. Mine may have atypical input lag for this panel; I'm not sure. Nonetheless I really do like it, however you should know the risks associated with it though.
