Thinking about picking up the KRK Rokit 5, but looked at the inputs and don't have a clue how to hook it up. I see theres one RCA input but there is also some balanced inputs. How would i hook either my computer or PS3 upto one those inputs.

You would use the RCA inputs. Computers and PS3s generally don't have a balanced output, so you don't use the balanced input.

explanation of wth balanced inputs are {

Balanced inputs allow you to connect a source which outputs a balanced signal. A normal audio signal is a ground line held roughly constant and a signal line which varies with respect to ground. The change in voltages produces an oscillation in the speaker coil which creates sound at corresponding frequencies. A balanced signal takes the signal line, inverts it, and sends the inverted copy down the second line in phase with the primary signal line in lieu of grounding the second line. This means that for any change in voltage, an equal and opposite change occurs on the other line. Since the difference in voltage creates a signal, the rate at which this change can occur is effectively doubled by sending each signal racing in an opposite direction. Imagine two trains, where either one moves and the other remains still, or both move in opposite directions - in the second case, the separation between the trains after a given time is doubled.

Balanced signals also help in that you have two signals, so the noise issue presented by long cabling runs doesn't create as bad of a Signal to Noise ratio as it would for a traditional signal plus ground method. But the transmission distance component shouldn't matter as you shouldn't make that long of a cable run to begin with.

I see you. Thanks a whole bunch. Just wondering is there a special RCA cable since it only have one input or can i just plug in either red or white audio cables from my ps3.

Only one? Okay, this I need to look at. You're sure it's not one per sat?

Yeah, I think it's one per sat. So the red and white cables would go to either sat. Here, pics:

It looks like they don't differentiate the design between right and left like many (most) lower-end active sats. You buy a Rokit 5 sat, you get a Rokit 5 sat. It becomes a left or right only by where you place it. Pretty sweet, really. Better than amping both in the same circuit then pumping the spare over, possibly by some cable that you can't replace without a soldering iron.

Special part is they all need their own power cable. :-/
