Hi. I have KOSS UR-20 over-ear headphones.

They are paired with the onboard audio system in a Dell 400SC.

When listening to 192kbps .mp3 files, is there anything that I'm missing out on?

Yes, there sure is. ;)

Perhaps I should rephrase my question.

Given the onboard audio system and the 192kbps .mp3 files, is the UR-20 capable of reproducing the audio exiting my computer?

If this still does not make sense, maybe another rephrase will help. I'm wondering if the quality of the headphones is equal to, less than, or greater than the quality of audio produced by the onboard audio system and 196kbps .mp3 files.

Yea.
Those cans are actually a good match for your system....

It doesn't take very good cans to "reproduce the audio coming out of your computer" specially when the material is compressed audio. ;)

Sounds good. Thank you for the answer.

I apologize for the confusion.

There was no confusion....I kinda figured that is what you were asking and I was just being a smartass. :D

Now the next question is------> Are you getting all you that can out of your audio solution?

What software are you using to play these mp3s?

Why do I get the feeling there's another plug for Foobar coming right up? :p

Winamp 5.04

Barring the obvious recommendation to use Foobar I would suggest adding the mad decoder and SSRC Resampler.

WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?

Would someone care to tell BO(V)BZ what he did wrong?

Hello, I was wondering where I can find the Mad Decoder? When I looked online, a lot of specs said that the resampler is included but nothing about mad. Is mad only in Winamp?

Coolplayer has MAD built into it IIRC.
It's a pretty cool little player. :D
Once I switched to Foobar I never went back to anything else.
It's kinda nice having everything all in one package (cept for the interface tweakes that is)

Umm... sorry? I'm just as big a foobar zealot as anyone, if that's what that post was about :D

HAHAHA
Sorry the whole what did you call me thing is kind of a running joke with me.
Nevermind. :p

That's sort of what I figured. Evidently people think I'm biased because I impusively recommend foobar for anything audio related.

Ah so it is winamp only?

I've also heard good things about CoolPlayer...I only have a soundstorm and Koss UR 19's so I probalby wouldn't notice difference b/t Winamp 5 and Foobar?

Thanks for the reply!

You might not notice the difference, but the interface is so much better and worht getting used to. Go foobar and never look back ;)
