Koolance's new Ram cooler

now thats just a lie. ive seen many a set of ram not want to go further, (cf)'s ram has done it, hes perfectly prime95 cpu test stable, but the ram just wont go any more, despite dividers, slack timings, and more voltage.

You can double your CPU speed while still keeping the memory at stock settings, so I highly doubt that as I have yet to see a modern CPU double its speed that wasn't on cascade or liquid nitrogen.
 
Why is it oh great one that the people ragging on ram coolers are the same people who couldn't possibly even put it in their systems because thay are running tubes wider than the blocks we are discussing. :D

who is this pointed towards?? cause if its towards me, i dont even have water anymore.
 
You could be running 1" tubing and make those ram blocks work for you by running them parallel with another block IF you saw a need for them.

It just so happens that the guys running big tubes generally tend to think that watercooling everything that you can mount a block on just because you can is nonsensical at best.

Myself I'm split on it. I'm of the opinion that if it doesn't feel hot to the touch it's fine but if it's hot then it can benefit from active cooling. I've yet to have my ram get that hot but if it did I'd probably be looking into something to plumb into my loop to take care of the problem.

what's your point :confused:

also, some combinations of cpu + ram + mobo doesn't like dividers. my dfi nf3 + 2 sticks of ballistix was one of these. you can't always rely on dividers, but that's not the point, ram cooling is. as i said before, you obviously haven't played with a stick of micron 5b D. it takes more than a modest amount of well aimed air to keep it cool.

my apologies if my post comes across sounding harsh, i'm not trying to be mean ;)

TN, explain yourself before you get another guy hating on you :cool:

It is probably pointed towards me because TN hates me and everything that comes out of my keyboard. Especially because I said that Koolance bested AC with their RAM cooler design :rolleyes:
 
and TN would probably hate me too if i started voicing my opinions in the watercooling forum ;)

If I was to ever water cool my RAM (when is hell going to freeze over) I think I would rather use these instead of the Koolance of AC stuff.......... :eek:

I don't hate anyone. :confused: Especially yourself as you seem articulate and educated. Just don't agree with what you say all the time. :) The Koolance design is probably better IMHO, but it is just fugly as sin. In fact I have a whole slew of Koolance Hydra-Pak cooled HD's.
 
Yeppers, there's a few places around that have 12mm barbs with G1/4 threads, perfact for 7/16 tubing................;)
 
ooo look at us hijack the thread! i want those ram coolers, with the fittings for 7/16, sheet i'd even take em with fittings for 3/8" cuz then i would use the small swiftie pump and jjust cool it that way who knows...

one thing tho, i dont want to remove the heatspreaders on my ram. thats whats nice about the koolance and hte AC blocks i spose, the fact that you apply it right on top of the the ram as you got it from the store.

another thing, anyone know where black lil heatsinks like whats on the mobo in the pics above can be found? i tried and my source doesnt do black and im not sure if i wanna stick my blue ones on my mobo...
 
Go to a junk store and get some 386 or 486 heatsinks. Get hacksaw or Dremel, cut to size, and glue on MB. Works great. :D
