Koolance Rad. Question

Has anyone using koolance aluminum Rad had problems with corrosion? If so were you using the koolance liquid?
 
I wouldnt use a raw copper block in the loop with the rad even with the Koolance coolant. Corrosion is no fun to clean out. your best bet is going to be to change the rad or use a Koolance block that is gold plated.
 
as you know, i've got a pc4-1xxx and had a pc4-7xx. Both have aluminum rads from the factory. I've used those with koolance waterblocks and fluid and never had a problem with corrosion, discoloration or anything else. I ran the same fluid in the 7xx for about 4 months before i sold it for the 1xxx and it looked as good when i was done as it does today.
 
OK . Has anyone used a copper block that is not gold plated and seen any problems. I have ten units out using the koolance system and they do have raw copper blocks in them
I just installed new coolant in a system I have had out for 2 years for a customer and there was no corrision to be found in the system . The reason I am asking is my wife is building a system and she wants to have the blocks gold plated . I think its a waste of money so thats why I am asking. The rad isn't Aluminum but she does have aluminum components in the loop.

The answer to this really entirely depends on what fluid you use. If you stick with the Koolance stuff you'll be fine. If you use any fluid spec'd for use in mixed metal water loops you'll be fine. If she's got clear topped water blocks and really wants to.... who cares? Its just money. Rejoice she's into it!
 
approved by whom? Koolance even says not to use raw copper blocks so its not them. What exactly do you mean by approved fluid?

I was also just at the koolance site and I couldn't find anywhere that they warn against using raw copper blocks could you please give a link.

I love the fact that she's into it . But dam she is fragging the shit out of me online. Now she thinks she's an extreme modder. Dam!

On a side note her and my daughter are both using Game cheats. I refuse to cheat in a game they both disappoint me in that respect.
