I bought a koolance exos off a friend. He was using it but didnt care for it anymore so I picked it up. Its basically all still put together. Only problem is that I will have to rerun the hoses to include the additional 2 chipset/gpu blocks i purchased.

It doesnt look like there is enough tubes for it so I have to buy more. Do I have to buy the hoses from koolance's site (where its $1.19ext/$1.49int per foot)? Or can i buy some clear vinyl tubing from the local hardware store(where its roughly $3 for 20')? and If I get it from the store, all I have to do is make sure its 1/4" ID, 3/8" OD?

Then whats the best way to run the loop? I know CPU would be first, but then should I go to the chipset (kt400) or the gpu (9800pro)?

*edit*

And i didnt have any instructions, so I had to pull them from the site. And after a quick flip through, I didnt see it hinting at how to attach the probe to the cpu block. Is it just supposed to sit there?

1) you can use 1/4in id 3/8od hose from the hardware store..... that is what I do it is a hell of a lot cheaper that way
2) the thermal probe is supposed to attach to the bottom of the block using an adhesive foil that came with the unit, but that I assume is missing so you could do one of the following.

1. use thermal tape AKA frag tape or 2. you could just use some black electrical tape or some other form of adhesive material ala AS Epoxy :D

3) I personally run my loop like this CPU->NorthBridge->GPU->res

awsome. thanks for the response

I ended up ordering the new cpu300 block and two of the gpu180's off newegg. So would the cpu300 come with that foil tape?

and another one I just thought of.....I could use my AS5 instead of the tube of compound from Koolance, right? It wont ruin anything on the waterblocks?

The Cpu block should come with the foil tape to mount the thermal probe and yes you can use AS5 instead of the crap that comes from koolance I have used AS's pastes on all my koolance blocks and have had nothing happen to the blocks as long as you follow the application instructions for AS5 you shold not have a problem :D

awsome. thanks for the info :)

Now to wait on the new blocks to get here before I can slap it all together and finally get my feet "wet"

I wouldn't worry too much about the temp probe. Even properly placed, it's far too innacurate to use for anything but a quick reference. I built a Koolance system for my father in-law, and I could see the temp probe being much more useful if it were mounted in the reservior as a water temp indicator.

Personaly I think

NB>CPU>GPU

is best. Techicly the order will have a 1C effect most. I think that order (forward or back I guess) is the best looking and easiest. Not too sure about the performance.

It was overclockercafe I read the 1C fact. That site is very creditable.
