hey guys i am building a new comp with a AMD 64 3200+ processor ....and i intend to OC the heck outta it .........i wanted to get a Antec Sonata Quiet Mid Tower Case (Piano Black) Retail w/380W Power Supply……….. zipzoomfly.com…..$99
but i am told that these cases r not for cooling but for quiet........
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=140025

so please suggest some cases that i could get for under $100 shipped with a good power supply like true...... :D

antec is into quiet now, but they dont ignore cooling, its two 120mm fans spinning slow to be quiet, but it moves an ok amount of air. and as alwase, MOD THE HELL OUT OF IT! add an intake fan center bottom on the side pannle, and then one center top for exaust, and dont worry about a thing. also the antec writen on the top in holes aids in venting heat out that may get traped at the top. you can alwase get two fans that are higher RPM and move even more air then they currenly do.

good luck, and try not to get pissed when your question isnt answered in a hour and a half

The Sonata has good airflow properties the way it is. If you are looking to do some major oc'ing and don't care about noise then I would suggest installing a high rpm 120mm fan in the back instead of the low speed one it comes with. Then I would put a 120 in the front and mod a 120 into the side directly over the CPU HSF with a duct. A 120 exhaust blowhole on the top panel wouldn't hurt either.

hoping to but the Antec Performance II SX1040BII SOHO File Server - Power Supply 400 Watt..........what do u guys think........

I have modded version of that case, the Thermaltake XaserII. It has great airflow, and is moderately quiet. I put in some silenx fans and put some sound deadening material on all the panels. Its decent, but I wish I would have gotten a smaller case.

what are the other 2 LEDs for on the front of that Antec case ??

HDD Activity
Power on/off
..... ?

I have the Antec/Chieftec clone (same case as that) but mine has 2leds hdd & power.

its a good case, but i think next time i'm going Cooler Master or Lian Li

yup i looked into thise cases they have good airflow but to me they r a little to "BLing BLing".....all the neons and stuff.............i mean i have to sleep in the same room as the computer so i think a little fan noise is better that bright neons
:D

what type of puwer supply do ENERMAX PC CASE's have and r they any good............

personally, i dont care about the cooling/airflow quality in my cases because i can always stick a fan here or there and in some situations where i cant, then thats where my modding skills come in!
