I have 1GB of Kingston HyperX (2x512) PC4000 RAM. Working on overclocking the PC, and I REALLY don't want to set a memory divider.

Other system specs are as follows:

Athlon64 (130nm) 3500+ - Coolermaster Hyper6+
eVGA SLI mobo
MSI 550w power supply
eVGA 7800GT

Right now, the system is running at 250x10, 4x HT, everything else stock dividers. CPU voltage is set at 1.550, and ram is at 2.75.

The system is rock solid, it will prime for 24+ hours in either small ffts, random, or both together.

I've been trying to get just a little bit more out of it, and, as I've said, I don't want to run a memory divider. I've run the FSB up past 333mhz on a low multiplier and ram divider, so I know the MB is good for it.

Once I get to around 260, I start to run into RAM issues in prime, after about 3 hours or so. I want to push the voltage on the ram a little more, but I wanted to find out if anyone has experience with this stuff. How high of a voltage is still 'safe' for the RAM?

The timings right now are set pretty loose. (8-4-4-3, 2T) If I raise the voltage on the ram another .1v and it still runs into issues, should I just give up on it?

Not complaining... the 250x10 runs phenomenally well... The memory benches in Sandra at just over 6000MB/s, well over any of the reference benches.

I guess I could just say that I don't want to lose speed anywhere to gain speed.... I'd prefer for HT to not be below 1000, at least by much, and I'd prefer to have my RAM as close to 250/500 as possible.

Sorry for the rambling... Any thoughts? :D

mem dividers = no performance loss on 64 chips .. bec the controller is on chip

True, but I do lose memory speed. Let's say I bench the memory...

At 'ddr400' at 250, as I've said, I get about 6000MB/s.

At 'ddr333' at 333 (was 220 maybe?), I get around 5200MB/s.

And there is a noticeable difference, most notably in my #1 benchmark, 'Vana'diel Bench 3' for Final Fantasy XI, which seems to rely almost completely on the video card and memory speed.... if the ram speed is lower, regardless of FSB and actual clock speeds, the benchmark runs slower.

I'm gonna play with some stuff tonight. I want to hit 500 on the memory WITH a divider... So we shall see...
