Ok, here goes! Had an old ATX PSU from a HP Kayak. Ripped all the parts out of case since someone was going to buy it, but then that fell through so I got the idea of a 100% silent dual P2 system. Turns out there was a shitty loud 80mm fan in the PSU. So...unplugged it, let it sit to drain charge or whatnot, then opened it up, disconnected and removed fan, replaced covers, and tried plugging in AC power cable with the rocker switch to off. Sizzle. Tripped the breaker of the plug it was connected too, and it was connected to the mobo at the time. Should I try rechecking the PSU for non-grounding, and then use it again, or junk it since its compromised? reason I ask is that I don't have any other ATX PSUs handy.
