KDS AV-195TF problem need help

Ok, I have a KDS AV-195TF trinitron monitor - that has an issue - when you turn it on the screen is green - how do you fix or adjust that - the adjustments in the on monitor menu do not help - nor does changing video card settings (or video cards for that matter - ati & matrox screen is still green.)
So, suggestions?
 
Come on anyone got any ideas? Does not have to be brand/model specific - can also be trinitron specific help...
 
Actually I had the same monitor as you do and had that very same issue just recently before replacing it with a new NEC FE991SB 19" CRT. At first all I did was bump the top of the AV-195TF once or twice and then the green discoloration would go away. But of course this easy lil fix only lasted for like 2 months until I was forced to open the monitors cabinet itself and actually gently move the gun attactched to the end of the tube to be rid of the green discoloration. After that the monitor was starting to go in image quality unfortunetly and had to be replaced but it did serve me for 4 years so it was about time to get a new CRT anyways.
 
ok opening the case sounds a bit dangerous if you do not know what you are doing (like me) Dont monitors have a charge stong enough to kill, even when they are unplugged?
hmm. other suggestions, aside from buy new or risk of frying?

I've heard that they still pack a wallup after they're unplugged. You wouldn't see me going inside a monitor's cabinet (particularly into the tube itself).

Got this from another forum where someone had the same problem with their monitor:

Actually for the green screen to comeup like that ..it is either the color module is losing its control settings or the blue and red electrodes within the tube itself or week allowing for the green to over ride them. Since you can bang on it and change it, I go for the first. Either way it would be more cost efficent to buy another monitor than to try to have that 1 repaired.

Agreed if you dont know what your doing yes dont go in there you might get quite a nasty shock. As I had previously mentioned my KDS AV-195TF monitor was fading in image quality along with that green discoloration issue so the best advice I can give to you is to either pick up a nice new 19" CRT, or a 19" LCD to replace your KDS CRT bud. :(
