Kaspersky Problem-Unhandled Exception

I installed Kaspersky Personal Pro on my XP box after a fresh install (including format). The only thing I had on the OS at the time were drivers for the hardware (ATI Catalyst and some XP security fixes). Kaspersky refuses to run, I get the same error of Unhandled Exception at various processes. So far it has stalled on ATI Catalyst drivers and a file in wmplayer. Currently as soon as I get to the desktop I get that same error. It looks like that has happened before on the KAV forums but no definite fix. I have emailed their support. Any ideas?
