I know its a hell of an old mobo, but I'm trying to run a 1.333ghz Athlon Thunderbird in this mobo but when I run Prime95 it gets fatal errors (rounding) after about 10 seconds. Needless to say, I'm worried about its stability and how reliable my data will be. I'm using Cheepoman's newest bios and conservative memory timings on Crucial 2.5-3-3 512MB (1 stick).

Does anyone know I can get this damn beast to run properly?

I guess I should note that MBM is reporting the proc to be at 55 [edit: at idle]. Seems high for a PAL 8065.

I went through 4 of these. I had to RMA all of them. This mobo sucks some serious ass. Period. Cut your losses.

Dammit. Thats what I was afraid of. Is a 1.3ghz chip really worth buying a new mobo for? I only have an old Matrox G400 laying around =/

Thanks

I dunno about you guys, but i love that mobo :) Im on one right now, with a 2400+ @ 2ghz...still waiting on ram lol, and can run stable at 2.2 all day with the pc2700 ram. When they said this mobo was 1.4ghz max....well..you know what i thought :p

edit: idle temp is 41*C and max load temp is 48*C on air

IceBawx - what BIOS are you using and where did you get it?

I've set up 2 friends with this board and they're both rock solid.

Also, Elixer...what brand of Ram are you using? and what speed? If you try to OC the Ram, it will do that in prime95, as it did that with me just this morning. I had it at 138/138 and the Ram was hating life( pc-133), and it was giving me " ERROR ILLEGAL SUMOUT" on prime95. I put it back stock and it worked fine, ran it for 7 hours while i took a nap lol. Try that, if that doesnt work...you may have just gotten a rotten board or need new BIOS.

It wont even run stable at stock 133 FSB. I guess the board is just bad =( I'll try that new BIOS though.

Run memtest and see if you have bad RAM, could be the cause of all your troubles. Google the program CPU FSB and use it to undeclock it, and see if it runs stable at a lower speed. it may be the board, but the problems your having sound like RAM problems to me.

It runs rock solid at 100FSB. Its only when I run it at 133 that it crashes. I guess I'll leave memtest running overnight~
