Just wondering...

How may others have x2's or dual cores here now?

I just joined the ranks with my new one :)

I've got a 170, and my roomie has a 3800+ X2. Both folding of course! They are freaking sweet!

edit: Which one did you get?!! You didn't even say? The next obvious question is how far have you overclocked it?

I've had my 4400 going for several months now and plan on upgrading one of my boxen to a 3800 when I get some cash.

EH, I cheaped out with a used x2 3800... but its still an x2!

I just got it running last night, so no time to OC.. I'll work on it this weekend. Works well with the 7900gt though

Absolutely love my Opty 175. It friggen rules DivX encoding, WoW, etc. Oh yeah, F@H also.

Would love to add another one, just have no real use for one other than folding and seems like a waste of money (though replacing 2 Athlon 1200's with one X2 or Dual Opty would save electricity and space)...

Got me an opty 170@2.6 atm.

Still working on the OC, it was able to do 2.58@ stock volts, but needed a volt bump to 1.425 to hit 2.6. Just got a new Zalman9500 cuz it was runnin a bit warm, gonna see how much more I can get out of it.

Folding aside, the smoothe as a babys bottem multitaskin has me hooked on SMP.

My work machine a p4 3.0HT seems choppy in comparison.

I have a dual Xeon server sitting at my feet fighting an OS install for all of it's life

I have my 165 @ 2430 right now....and waiting on a better motherboard to bring it back up to 2.6, only 1.40v needed for that. I really need to put in some more hours at work (cause when I get another mobo, this other one is going to run my spare 3000+) and not buy books for school....

It's really hard to beat the value of an X-2 3800. My 4200 won't run a dang bit faster and in many cases the 3800 will be the better over clocker.

2 - x2 3800's (Dirtnap IV and Dirtnap Ultra D)
1 - x2 4400 (Dirtnap)
1 - s754 newcastle 3400 (Dirtnap ii)

The dual core's are great. Note that the PPD is wrong since that machine just send a WU in. I wish I was getting 5000+ PPD with those machines.

I should probably come up with a better naming scheme.

Smart move going with the 3800. Here's a link to a screenie of mine. I got it a little over a week ago.
270 x 10 on air. XP-90 with a silent cat fan. Needless to say I am thrilled with it.

Sorry to go off topic but I gotta ask what are your temps with that sink?
I'm using the stock sink coupled with a better fan, I get 47c when folding and 51-52c when priming.

The XP-90 is a heatsink...

43c as you can see on the screenie running two primes. Usually 41 to 42 while folding. 27 to 28 idle.

Finally got the net back :)

Have my system set with 2x f@h, have to reconnect the farm later today so they can drop :)

Stock on 2.0ghz right now

Just curious, wha'ts everyone running their 3800's on, vcore etc, I have to play around with mine, but want to know what others have theirs set up on right now, I'm running air cooling for now...

I would say you can probably go to at least 2.3 without touching the voltage. I have mine set to 1.45 in the bios (smartguardian reports 1.42 and cpuz reports 1.424) and mine is at still running nicely at 2.7. 39 to 42c folding.
