Finally got my vp2030b lcd after waiting almost two months for it to ship from dell and have mixed feelings about it. This is my first LCD. My previous monitor was an old, cheap 16" Dell CRT. There is noticeable banding with gradients, not much blue color space, and the colors are washed out compared to my crt monitor.
The perfectsuite software is awful. It worked well to calibrate the monitor, but it loads a whole slew of background processes and programs onto my computer. My startup and shutdown time increased dramatically, so I uninstalled it.
Not all is bad, though. I don't see any ghosting in games and there isn't any backlight bleeding. No dead pixels! I'm not sure how the viewing angles are, as this is my first LCD. When my head is aligned to the center of the screen, any black or dark areas on the rest of the screen (other than where my head is) are brighter.
Also, is it normal for windows to boot up in 1280 x 960 at 75 hz?
