Just ordered my Dell 30" LCD

[gweminence]

Got it for $1199, WITH 4-year accident protection warranty. Not too shabby, eh? I'm excited as hell. Blast Christmas for delaying shipment!

[Riddlinkidstoner]

Does that warranty cover everything? Drops, spills, etc?

[gweminence]

Yes, everything. It costed $169 extra, so the monitory itself with the 'normal' 3-year replacement-only warranty was $1030 -- a fantastic price, I think.

Want to clue us in to how you got such a good deal or is it a secret

Yeah, I am curious also.

Probably Ebay. If its true, I wish you best of luck bro. I hope you didn't get screwed. There are lots of evil people on that site.

[gweminence]

It was $1668 total with the extra warranty/accidental damage protection.
Subtract 15% for the dell promo that day = $1417
Subtract 10% from a 10% off coupon I bought for 8 dollars on ebay = $1274.

That's what I paid originally. Then, today, I noticed that the price dropped to 1274, so I called them up and asked for a credit. At first, they refused, then I told them I'd just return it and buy it at the new price, since the new price with the coupons and stuff would drop it below 1k.

In the end, they gave me a $75 credit = $1199. Although I suppose I should add in the 8 bucks for the coupon, so total was actually $1207. Shipped.

I'm pleased.

Edit:

Nope, not ebay. From Dell's website.
