And I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, the mouse is simply awesome. Great looks, great ergonomics and runs like a dream in Windows. No lag whatsoever. BUT. The mouse seems to wobble from left to right on flat surfaces. My desk is not perfectly flat so in some places it wobbles on some it doesn't so I don't know whether it wobbles when the actual surface is perfectly flat or it's the other way around

Another problem arised when I tried gaming on it. I mostly play only one game (Operation Flashpoint) in LAN and my performance has decreased ALOT. I just can't adjust the mouse to how I like it. I have a cheap 4 year old mouse that is like 100 times less precise in Windows compared to the MX1000 but I find myself playing much better with it. What the hell is going on? Is the mouse just too sensitive and I have to get used to it or what? Should I turn off the mouse acceleration for games? The game has a mouse sensitivity setting too but it just makes the cursor less smooth and jumpy. Maybe it's just a problem with the game

My question is, how long does it take to get used to high sensitivity? Right now, it seems almost impossible to me. Also, does anyone else have the wobbling issue?

that's a hard question to answer...adjusting completely depends on the person
Yes, but I'm just wondering did everyone else at first feel it was impossible to play with a high sensitivity mouse. If it's something that you can get used to it it's fine with me. I just hope it won't be this bad all the time.

I know exactly where you're coming from. Just last month I moved from a POS IBM mouse to an MX700 and was blown away with how smooth it was and then at the same time it just seemed like the mouse was moving incredibly erraticaly and it just took me a week or so to adjust myself to it and get used to the precision that it forced on me. Now I wouldn't trade it for the world... or an MX1000 I guess... :D

Hehe. The thing is, I totally love its performance in Windows and applications. It's so smooth and precise but in gaming it's a totally different story. It could be just me but I find my old POS mouse much better in games. I only play slower paced FPSs though so that could have something to do with it as well.

Just give it some time, you'll get used to the it. I'm sure it has a lot to do with going from an old mouse to the most hi-tech mouse out. I progressed through several mice before getting to the MX1000. I absolutely love it.

It definately takes time to adjust to new mice. I went from an HP ball mouse to a Logitech mx310 and it took a while to adjust to it in games. I think some of the issue is placement of the sensor, for example on my ball mouse, the ball was located more forwards so I could just twitch or pivot on the lower part of the mouse. But my mx310 has the sensor right smack in the middle, so I can't twitch the front of the mouse. Now it's not even an issue.

It changes how you play a little bit, but give it a week or two and you'll be used to it.

I cannot game for shit on wireless mice. I prefer a wired mouse any day of the week when it comes to anything like gaming period.

Makes no sense whatsoever.

I just got one two weeks ago and I gotta say that no wireless is for gaming. Wire owns in games.

Personally, I like super-high sensitivity. Which is why I was overjoyed when I got my MX1000. My old IntelliMouse Explorer was soooooo un-responsive. Whenever I got a new game, I had to crank the mouse sensitivity up to max. now, I don't have to touch it hardly at all. This thing is a dream for gaming. Play on it for a few weeks, and you'll probably like it better.

I don't know what you're talking about regarding the mouse "wobbling." I've only tested a MX1000 in a store, and it didn't seem to wobble. You could head to a place like staples or bestbuy and try their demo model...see if that wobbles as well. If it doens't, RMA your mouse.

As for sensitivity - it's something that you'll get used to, and probably improve your game slightly once you're used to being able to make really precise shots. Just keep playing!

my mx510 used to wobble like crazy, i gave up on it :/. anyways, the mx1000 isn't a good gaming mouse-It's heavy and wireless.
if I were you i'd return it and get a 310, 510, 518 , or the razer.

What the hell kind of wrists do you have that you can't move the MX1000??? Now sure I've got friggin' gorilla wrists but still, it's not heavy at all, and who cares anyway, if it were much lighter your hand wouldn't be able to stop it precisely anyways.

Ditto. I got the MX1000 thinking that it would be leaps and bounds ahead of my MX510, but alas, it was only heavier and slightly smoother, not worth my 80 dollars.

I have a question; was it just the MX510 that you had that wobbled, or is it all of them that you've used? I ask because I have a MX510 and have never noticed a wobble, nor have I noticed one when using my friends MX700.

i cannot remember if all my logitechs wobbled or not :<
now that i think about it, it most likely was my desk causing the wobbling . my desk had a bit of a crazy-glue accident :O sucks i don't have logi mice to test on my new desk.

The MX1000 being wireless is not a problem for me at all since I don't notice any lag. Yeah, it's a bit heavy but I'll get used to that. I also don't like the fact that if I lift the mouse less than half an inch from the surface it will continue tracking. As for the wobbling. I searched for it to see if anyone has the same problem and to my surprise these is loads of people complaining about it. Here http://engadget.com/entry/4070876008708410/ some guy says:

regarding the wobbling, i had a very slight wobbling problem with my mx1000 - i fixed it very simply by taking a sheet of 1200grit wet'n'dry sandpaper, laying it flat on a surface and moving the mouse over it. it evened out the pads and now it doesn't wobble. sorted!

Is this safe to do? I don't want to mess up my mouse by f***ing up the pads. The wobble is slight but still annoying.

Hmm, I just noticed that the left mouse button feels kind of different than the right one. As if there was some kind of gap between the plastic and the actual switch or whatever it's called in english. It's less than 1mm so 99% of people wouldn't notice it but since I'm the pickiest t*at around it annoys me. One would expect a better build quality from a $80 mouse

DO NOT SAND THE MOUSE FEET!!!!!!!
. i tried something like that once and took off too much of the mousefeet......

I'd get a mx 510, 518, or razer mouse instead. they're smoother , lighter, and cheaper. to get the wireless feeling, tape your mouse cord to your desk. give yourself about 1 foot slack, tape it, then adjust sens or tape. I'm doing that with a ms wheelmouse 400 dpi optical and it feels GREAT. I might buy a razer mouse from a store soon, if it doesn't beat out this cheap mouse, it's going back right away.

Thanks. I guess I can live with small wobbling but this left button is pissing me off. BTW I had the MX-500 and hated it's ergonomics. The MX1000 just feels great in the hand and apart from the aforementioned problems, it's perfect. I would gladly ask for a replacement but it doesn't work that way here. I doubt they would replace the mouse for small wobbling and problems with a button that only 1% people would notice :(

well, you could buy a cheapo wired mouse just for gaming and keep that monstrosity for your
regular usage :>

ms wheelmouse, logi mx 310=$10 dollars or sumfin on the net. www.froogle.com
just tape the mousecord and youre set. take care.

Now that you mentioned gaming, today I played for a couple of hours and I'm slowly getting used to it :) I'm still not good as before but it's 10 times better than it was the first time I tried gaming on it. I think the gaming problem is solved as I can see myself completely getting used to this high sensitivity. Now, if there was no wobbling and left mouse button issues, it would be perfect. Literally.

The MX1000 rocks. Went from a 510 to it a few months ago. The sensor is postitioned differently on it so it took a few days to get used to it gaming, but no big deal. Play as well with it as I did with a wired mouse. Screw taping a wire. Half these dudes aren't good enough players for any of these mice to make a difference. You either own or you don't.
