Just finished installing windows xp -- how come I dont have a my computer icon?

I donno, arent I supposed to have icons.

I mean, I have icons now because I downloaded a few things, but I have no my computer icon..


how do I get it back?

If you mean not on you desktop (it is not there by default in xp), then go into you start menu and right click on My Computer there, it should give you an option for "Show on desktop"
 
Ass eggrole said, right click the start menu and then hit properties, you can change the start menu to classic mode which is easier (imo) and makes the icons appear.

Also, if yougo into display properties you can set the theme to windows classic, this saves a fair amount of ram and also makes your computer look less like an explosion in a haribo factory.
 
Right click on desktop - desktop tab - customize desktop -general tab - desktop icons - check "my computer" - OK your way out
