Just an observation

I Haven't been here forever, a bit, but definitely not forever. "four score and seven years ago", oops wrong speach. I miss hearing the word of wisdom from Relic, Random Moose sightings, and routine thread jacks. The fun factor is declining. We don't need to split into factions, "We's a Team". I belong to the forums at OCAU, and Overclockers.com, as well as my team's. Every day I join a different forum, without a team, trying to recruit for the [H]. We have 4 teammates proudly displaying their [H]'s over at Divx.com, half are mods, 1 works there. GEJ is the deciding factor, as to how many of their corporate (all insanely high powered) rigs get borged. Our various projects are great, as long as we are having fun. The computers do the serious work. We come together, to enjoy our combined efforts, not to fight over who's in charge of what. This is a place to enjoy the strangeness of our teammates, and celebrate the differences. I send dozens of folks here every day. I would greatly appreciate it if it were a place where everyone felt welcome. No power struggles, no ego's. Just a bunch of happy drunks, like the good old days. You could always explain away you're goofs with a cheers. This is honestly supposed to be fun, or why bother. None of us have to perform the incredible computations, to which we dedicate our rigs. Please try to remember, we are here to enjoy the company of our teammates.

The DC forum.... General Mayhem for the poor! Actually most of the time things are pretty loose and fun around here. It seems that the thread yesterday just pushed a few buttons and got some actual serious discussion going that probably has needed to happen for quite some time. But anyhow, back to your regularly scheduled off topicness.

Where is the moose? He peeked his antlers around the corner a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen much of him recently... Not that I'd want to see anymore of him than we already have!.... *cringe*...naked moose... There went my desire to eat for the next month....

Keep on Folding!!

Maybe Steve can find us a replacement moose up in Alaska.

Wait, that wouldn't be the same!

<moose call> MooseywooseyMoosey! Come here booooy! We need to talk!</moose call>

Blasphamer! We have to have a Moose, I am pretty sure it goes against [H]orde beliefs not to have one! :p

Agreed my brether[H]en! That Atomicmoose shot me down when I was a noobie, so now that I own him, I prefer mine slow roasted over a barbeque, with lots of down south Texan sauce!!

Funny how things change over time!!! A.M. is owned!

muhahahahahahahha

I can't remember any of the old timers - Those who joined before I did - hanging around here to chat, but a lot of them are still crunchin'. Those who joined about when I did poke in here occasionally.
It seems that the typical routine is for someone to come in here as a newbie, and then after 6 months gp back to life.
The client has become very stable, there's not a lot of complaining about point values, we have very few slap-downs, we just crunch. Remember as the population ages hopefully they have jobs and family etc.
For instance Redshred, the moose, relic.
Redshred is still crunchin'
The moose still has 2 CPU's on line.
Relic has dropped down to 44 CPU's.
The procedure is to get new addicts in, wean them from the outside world, teach them their only purpose in life is to borg with permission, and then release them. Hopefully they will fold on.

Plus all the good names are taken :)

Can't really think of a manly vegan dish, right off hand, but there better be habanero's in the recipe. Maybe you can enlighten us.

This thread, shows the [H]orde I wanted to be a part of. Every new join is a new brother or sister. Need more sisters. In fact when we post, we maybe could ask ourselves, "Is my mom or sister gonna laugh, or think us stupid". My mom lurks here, just to see how silly I can get, under the influence of massive quantities of alcohol. Be careful what you bookmark, it can come back to bite ya in the butt.

I don't know how many of you acquire video collections ;) , but this team is getting a name for itself, slowly, but surely, at Divx.com. 2 Mods and a Divx Master  , proudly display they're [H]orde badges in every post. We got another new join today, and we be workin it. Get enough [H]'s, goin around, and nobody wants to be the oddball. That's the strategy Phunky_Monkey and I, use to drag really fast rigs into the fold. Still wanna borg the corporate headquarters, but we got a man on the inside now.

Got my pci DVB-s card today, and I may have to take a rig offline for a day or so, to get this straightened out. 2 buds use fortec set-top boxes, and both get over 2,000 satellite channels. 3k max set-top, my skystar 2.6c has no limits. Gonna lurk for a week or so, got bigger fish to fry. PVR with 5k+ channels. 100+ channels of porn, 1 channel dedicated to 24/7 broadcasts of Girls Gone Wild. Yep, it's dirty work, but somebody has to record it all.

A brought a sister into the [H]orde. My girlfriend folds now and has 3 PCs folding under her name. Soon to add a p4 3.2Ghz when she finishes building it for her dad (just needs DDR2 memory and PCI-E Graphics Card). Her dad's current rig has been borged, but it's only like a amd k6-2 450 or so, along with her xp2100 box, a64 3200 and p4 2ghz laptop. She is going to pass me if she keeps it up. In fact, I think there's a bit of competition flaring up there, but she's got more $$$ and a house to herself, so I think she'll win... but I'm not giving up without a fight! :) Anyway, she's alive and well, and folding for the [H]orde, but I doubt she'll be posting on the [H] as that's just not her thing.

Oh yea, and I try to hang out in the IRC channel, but typically everyone there is AFK, so it's not that exciting. :(

This sounds interesting. I've been planing on building a big PVR server this summer. Can you point me to a good site with some information on that?

Umm, is it you or your mom under influence :D
This is an excellent example of be careful what you post :p
And I fully agree - this would seem to me to be a female cause as well.
