Joost Gets Boost

NewsFactor is reporting that Joost has raised about $45 million in financial backing from companies like Viacom and CBS.

On Thursday, the nascent Internet television service announced that it has raised about $45 million from a handful of investors, including Viacom and CBS. Each of the investors bought a minority stake in the company. The funding will make monetary room for Joost to accelerate product development, global expansion, localization, and service offerings.
