i m planning to buy a jigsaw

i need to know what features to look out for, how it helps, and why its important... also, i have a budget so hopefully one under 25 to 30 will do

also, i need some points to make as an arguement with my dad to persuade him that a jigsaw is helpful so i need to know several situations where a jigsaw is necessary and other tolls cannot sub for it

also, i would also prefer if it was from a flyers from homedepot or something because my dad goes there a lot and can pick one up for me if i convince him to... its faster if its local and if its onsale in the flyers, my dad will think its a good deal

haha in that price range you'll be looking for one that comes with a couple of blades.. Options are for more expensive models

you are not going to get much for that $$. And there is almost always another (MAYBE NOT BETTER) tool option. I have used band saw, dremel, hole saw, etc in place of jig saw many times.
 
you can use a jigsaw for most applications, just like you can a dremel or a lot of other tools. for that price range you would probably get a Skil brand saw - might want to invest in a few good quality blades i.e. one for metal, one for plastic. I prefer a jigsaw over a dremel for larger cuts like windows...just my $0.02
