okay.. i built my computer about a month ago. i get it going and i am not getting as near as many fps as i should be getting.. in CoD i should be getting like 300+ but im only getting 40+ i have all AA and AF off!!... my brother built almost the exact same computer as mine just with a p4 3.0c.. and he runs doom 3 AWESOME.. it shouldnt make that much of a difference.

400w PSU
p4 2.8c w/ artic silver 5
Matsonic MS9377C+ mobo
1 gig of pc 3200
PNY 6800 GT
Audigy LS
80 gig hd (getting another)

1.) never heard of the MOBO, but make sure u got updated drivers. Does the brother have the same mobo?

2.) Make sure you got fastwrites disabled in bios, and ensure you're not running in AGP 1X or something. (in other words- go thru the bios w/ a fine tooth comb)

I also recommend you running a standard benchmark (pick one 3dmark, aquamark, shadermark, etc. etc.) and post results. That'll give us a better idea of where you're at performance wise. You might have your bro run the same bench. Comparing CoD to Doom3 might not be very conclusive.
