Hey I forgot will games freeze up for a bit if a computer gets too hot, then waits, and once it's cool enough, runs again?
 
A CPU with thermal throttling (P4, A64) could do that, though it'd be more of a stutter and/or sluggishness. Mostly, they just crash when too hot.
 
I got an athlon xp m 2500 right now, and also a flashed video card( 5900xt-nu), is the throttling too high for it or something? If it is, I might have to go and flash it with a different bios

read, Althlon XPs dont have throttling :rolleyes:
 
hehe... k then, does that mean I gotta find a bios for my video card without throttling mods
 
The Athlon may not, but the 5900 does have thermal throttling. That could do it. Check your GPU temps. Note that NV35 chips can run far hotter than CPUs. The default slowdown temp on mine is 140C. (could fry an egg on that...)
 
hmmm... not usre, I have a zalman heatpipe cooler on ther with an 80mm tornado clipped on to cool it down, and I also have heatsinks on the memory chips too, so it's not getting very hot, or so I think
