Congrats on the 6990. I would love to have gotten one and your right, it will tide you over for awhile. Now you can see all the different versions of the 7970, 7990 and NVs offering, and upgrade later if you so desire.

You don't have to justify your purchase to anyone. I know plenty of people who have 580's/6990's or crazy crossfire setups and run res's like 1680x1050. Big setups like that can really help if you're a high FPS gamer or have an 120hz as long as you've got the cpu muscle to drive it.

The Radeon HD 6990 is a damned fine card. AMD has been doing better with support for drivers on legacy dual GPU cards. So I wouldn't worry about it the way I would have prior to the 4870 X2.

If you got it for a nice price then I think you did good. As far as the game goes, I love the shit out of it. By far the best MMO I've ever played and I've played MANY of them.
