It's been a while since I've done any overclocking, so I expect this is something really stupid, but I have a 4890 and I'm trying to overclock it using MSI Afterburner. However, I've noticed as I up the clock speed in it, the GPU doesn't actually change (yes, I do hit apply). According to MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z the core stays at 500MHz, even if I run a 3DMark run, it stays right at 500MHz even though it's stock is 880MHz. I've even tried changing it in the ATI Catalyst control center and same thing. On the main screen in GPU-Z it will show the new clock speed, but in the sensors tab it still only reads 500MHz.
What am I missing here? Also, I've noticed I can adjust the voltage. Any idea what would be considered safe for a 4890? Looks like max I can set it in Afterburner is 1350mV which is only 38mV higher than it is stock.
