I'm running a PD 930 on an Abit AW8 with an AC Freezer 7 Pro (woot!), and the uGuru utility is telling me my processor is running at ~15C idle?! My BIOS says the same thing..but that's even lower then my old 3000 winnie used to run with an XP-90. :eek:
 
I'm assuming you don't have any other tools to measuer the temp? 15c does sound too good to be true, but I haven't had much first hand experience with 9x0 series and air.
 
No, I don't have anything else right now. I could probably pick up a thermal probe on the cheap though. Someplace like coolerguys.
 
unless the air temperature in your room is 10C or less, then it's a bad reading.
 
Yeah, I figured. My room temp is about 24-25C during the middle of the day.

Jeez, why is your room so cold? Since your room is that cold, the temp sounds about right.
 
Remember, with air cooling and water cooling you cannot achieve sub-ambient temperatures.

So, if you room is 24C (75.2 degrees F), there is no way your processor is running at 15C (59 degrees F).

I would consider that a bad reading.

LOL forgot he was talking about Celcius. I would have to change my answer and say it is a bad reading. My room is about that temp and my AW8 says I get 40C on idle and 60 on load.
 
Ok, that's probably closer to what mine is. Dang summer weather. :/

And BTW, how're you liking the AW8 Lazy? I'm loving mine! :D

Its awesome except the DOA ethernet controller. Still looking for some more ram and a better heatsink so I can test its overclocking abilities.

Are you using something to monitor the temps with? I've tried Everest, Speedfan, uGuru and the BIOS but none of them are right. :/
 
My AW8 did the same thing when I first set it up, ran anywhere from 12-19c idle. After a while it seemed to have straightened itself out, and now idles around 32c.

Hope you're enjoying the board Lazy. :D
