I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but rather than hook everything up and have it fry like an egg maybe someone with a little more insight than myself in the world of power supplies can help me out...
The offending power supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817121002&Tpk=kingwin+abt-600cw
The guilty parties (when finished):
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ AM2**
MSI K9N SLI Platinum (nForce 570 SLi)
2GB Kingston DDR2-800 5-5-5-18 1.8v
2 x EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked (576/1700)*
2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160GB SATA in RAID0*
LiteON 16x DVD-ROM
LiteON 16x DVD-/+RW
1 x 92mm Vantec fan
1 x 120mm Vantec fan
According to the power supply calculator @ www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp, it says I need a PSU that's rated for a minimum of 471W. No clue what I need on the rails, but the one I'm getting will have 20A on each 12V rail.
Now I have heard of people running FX-60 and FX-62 CPUs with two X1950XTX cards in crossifire on this power supply without issue, and under load consumes about the same as a 8800GTS. Can anyone else confirm that I will be good or should I invest in something beefier?
Any advice would be great!
*Only running one of each at first, but will be upgrading to two within 3-6 months
**Upgrading to a X2 5600+ when I get the funds
