me and my friend are sitting here contemplating if its possible to an SFF computer somewhere in his Dodge Viper, not in the trunk bc there is going to be a fully fiberglass encased system back there sometime. Wed like it to be fully accessible from the passenger and or driver.... our minds are totally jammed right now weve thought of a lot of possibilities and i came here to post becuase i know you guys will be able to give me some input @ least. We were thinking underneath the passenger seat, theres about a space large enough that you can fit a normal like in home dvd player, so i was thinking if we got teh thinest case possilbe with all onboard capabilities, which one would it be and what would be the best motherboard to use in this situation, we want rca out and also digital coaxial out and spdiff out preferibly... so we can go straight to his headunit which has a place for auxilary hookup.. hence wanting RCA out on the motherboard itself

not gonna be easy, I've done audio work on a 95 RT10 and there was almost zero space in there.

actually i think we found our answer.... after some nice googling littlepc.com proved to be a big help, and oh will it be done! with a computer thats only 1.6" tall and 10 inches deep, you could practically put it anywhere...

 PICTURE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

get the SMALLEST pc u can find...pop it where your cd/tape player is....then have a LCD screen that swivels around come out of the arm rest....keyboard onfront of that...with built in mouse...have the lcd on a moveable arm so it can be infrtonof you, beside you,way infrton so both passenge, driver can see it...or behind you so that ppl in back can(viper have abck seat?)

Hey, if you're going to make a car-puter, make it high tech. Forego the keyboard and mouse... get a Remote Wonder for navigating, and setup some fancy VRS (voice recognition software) so you can just "command" your computer to play shit.

It'd be sweet to say "car, play nine inch nails, eraser" and have it bust out the tune.

the remote is an awesome idea. However you can't use any voice command software because if you turn the system up it will overpower your voice and you'll be screaming into the mic and nothing will happen. But for cruising and not so loud music play a voice command would impress quite a few people.
Also know that you may have some issues with shutting down the computer without shutting down the operating system. but mp3car is the place to go for sure.
