Is this enough power?

I currently have a SilverStone ST75F-P 750W PSU. I'm looking to switch to a SilverStone ST45SF 450W SFX PSU because of a space issue with my H50.

Is 450W enough for my system?

i7-860S
Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 mITX motherboard
8GB (two 4GB sticks) DDR3 RAM
160GB Intel G2 SSD
600GB VelociRaptor (2.5" version)
LG SATA DVD Burner
PowerColor HD5770 1GB

Corsair H50
One 140mm LED case fan
One 120mm LED case fan
Internal NZXT USB header hub powered through a 4-pin molex connector

I usually run BOINC (at least 4 projects at a time) on my PC so CPU utilization is at 100% on all cores / threads most of the day.

That sucks. I can't find any 500W SFX PSUs w/ the same dimensions as the SilverStone SFX PSUs.

http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine gives a recommended psu wattage of 307W so hypothetically you should be ok. try the calculator for yourself (i used the coolit domino since they dont have the H50). however that goes out the window if you overclock at all, and running a pretty high load 100% of the time on a SFX psu seems like a bad idea to me (cooling and psu wear). if you really need to, then it should work, and it is a reputable brand although i have no idea about that specific psu. i think its funny that everyone buys 1000W psus and then uses 400W, but it is a good idea to use up to about 75% of your max rating to promote longevity and decrease noise.

btw, i really like your build. how much did it all cost you, and what case are you putting it in? the cpu/mobo combo is incredible, although i dont think i can aford the 4gb sticks of ram.

The closest I go to overclocking is the built int "Turbo Boost" feature on the motherboard and CPU.

It's in a LianLi PC-Q08A.

I got lucky with the RAM. It used to be two 4GB sticks of DDR2, but Kingston exchanged them for me w/ their equivalent DDR3 4GB sticks. Didn't cost too much since I'm recycling parts from a previous build, but if I had to guess I'd say it cost somewhere around $1k for everything.

Now that I think about it, one of my previous builds was:

SilverStone SG05 w/ stock 300W PSU
Zotac GF9300-G-E motherboard
Intel Q9550S CPU
8GB DDR2 800
300GB Velociraptor
Slim SATA DVD Burner
PowerColor HD5770

I ran BOINC on that machine most of the time too so all four processor cores were almost always at 100%.

I have a 430W thermaltake on my i7 920 system that currently has 5 hard drives, 6GB of ram. Although it only has a 8400 GS for video.

Which one, the 430W TR2? If so, you should get rid of that thing ASAP.

Yes it is a 3+ year old TR2. It works fine. I have a dozen or so of them at work. No problems at all with these. I was originally planning on selling my quad core q9500 system and using an Antec 650W 80+ from that but I now am thinking I will keep both systems. I may sink $50 to $75 into a new supply sometime in the future.
