This is what my 5 years old 37" Westinghouse 1080P LCD looks like right now, those marking are getting worst and worst, they don't show on very bright and solid red, green, or blue, only in grayish background. color temperature is also way off by now, white screen has yellow tint and patches on edges, is this LCD dying or about to died soon? what do you do with a big screen like this? Been using it as my PC monitor all these years and only started to developed these marks lately.

Yes, it's on it's way out, those patterns will eventually get worse, it may take a long time before it's completely unusable. Here's the jumbo thread where it's been discussed: www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1088497&page=161

And if you are looking for a modern, jumbo sized replacement, then give these two threads a glance:

The good news is that most prices are a lot lower than what the LVM W3 cost. IMHO a 32" is a great compromise size + lower priced than your average 37". But Westinghouse currently has a very nice 37" for cheap, the VR-3730.

Oh well i got plenty of use out of it, I had to sit 4~5ft away from this behemoth so I don't think I want to get another jumbo as replacement. LOL I couldn't use this one as a TV because the lower definition stuff on my FIOS looked like crap on this screen, are majority of the big screen TV also suck at playing SD stuff nowadays?

Some aren't as bad, FIOS SD looks decent on my 32" Panasonic L32S1 (ips-alpha panel) and it also looks decent on my newer 32" Westinghouse VR-3225. I didn't test FIOS on the VR-3225 for more than a few minutes though, so it's TV characteristics are still in question imho.

The 32" VR-3225 does work great as a PC monitor though, low input lag, great blacks/contrast, decent pixel refresh, Samsung S-PVA panel and an older A-series Samsung videoboard~decent parts for such an inexpensive display.

Just throwing a few ideas out there, in case you are ready for them.

LOL been using a Trinitron for 10 years now =) I have LCDs but just use em for games....

Trinitron is starting to show raster lines besides the wires that are on all trinitrons.
