So I finally got Windows up and running after I upgraded a lot of parts in my computer. Just a bit ago I ran a Prime95 torture test with SpeedFan monitoring temperatures to see how much the new case and cooler helped. After about 2 and a half hours of Prime95 these were my temperatures. I put a red box around the processor's fan speed and what I believe to be the processor's temperature (I'm basing this off of that this was the only temperature to go up while running Prime95). The was only a few second delay from stopping Prime95, putting SpeedFan on top, and taking the screenshot (even then, I never saw the temperature go over 41c when running the test).
I have a 2800+ Barton running at stock speeds on an Abit NF7-S v2.0. The cooler I have is a Thermaltake Extreme Volcano 12 with Arctic Silver 5. I have a Thermaltake Mambo case with a 120mm exaust on the back, a 120mm intake on the front, and a 80mm intake on the side blowing on my processor. I don't have my case wire-managed, but nothing that should block airflow too much. I think I should say that after idling for two hours my temperatures dropped to 34c. Are these temperatures out of the ordinary? Might my motherboard's temperature sensor not be accurate? I guess I'm asking because I'm planning to overclock my processor very soon, and if it really might be running at these temperatures I might be comfortable pushing it a little farther.
Thanks.
