Is it oh crap time?

I'm not sure about 1 week but here's hoping. This is a hardware block not a software block. This is why it leads to a bit of doubt on ways around it. It will also be enforced by Vista OS on top of the hardware block. I dunno. Good thing I already have a HDCP monitor. I wouldn't want to deal with a blank screen for a week or whenever the workaround comes about when trying to watch my new bluray or hddvd (haven't decided yet) version of Halo the movie.

Why is everyone making such a big deal about this? IMO, Vista looks like it's going to be the next Windows ME, and there will be no reason to upgrade.
