...or PC133 RAM prices went waaay up?

I bought a PC133 256 Mb stick (Kingston) a year and 3 months ago, for about, I'd say, 60-70$ canadian. Now, I'm looking for some more to add on my future server (made from old parts), the price almost doubled! For the same stick!

Heck, at the SAME store, right now, I can have 256 mb of PC3200 for 65$ (cdn), vs 100$ for PC133, both Kingston... Too bad the cheapest won't fit in my 168 pins mb...

Sorry, just found this out, had to rant about it. Feeling better now, but my wallet doesn't...

Crap, I could buy 256mb of Corsair XMS for the price of a "medium quality" PC133 stick!

PC133 is no longer in production... and yet can safely says that there's still demand on PC133 for those who don't have the cash to upgrade the whole system

PC133 Ram is still in production. The prices change and it doesn't ussually make sense. I could get some high quality fast ram for the price of most PC133 ram.

It's simple economics. Companies produce the most requested RAM in great quantities which pushes the older RAM into limited production. Less quantity usually means higher prices...Supply and Demand

Buy it from ebay or this forum. I am sure a lot of people are trying to get rid of PC133.

yeah... and when it's really hard to find a modules that will run fine with BX chipset...

Yup, had a quick look at it... Somewhat cheaper... I'll have to slap myself into buying used stuff.
