I recently came accross Central Brain identifier, a great utility that allows one to do many things.

You can change the multiplier, and change vcore in windows. This makes benching and testing for stability so much quicker and easier (its also good to compare temperatures) but have there been reports of this not being safe?

It also means I can lower the vcore and multiplier in windows without having to shut down to go into bios when I want to put my computer on a low power quiet state overnight.

But is changing these values dangerous? Any disadvantages to it?

I'm surprised that this program is never mentioned

Thanks for any info.

It's probably not mentioned because overclocking/changing v-core through a windows app (even those supplied with the motherboard) is iffy at best when it comes to stability. You might be able to use something like that to get an idea of max oc but you should always boot to the bios and lock in your settings from there.
