Is Amazon still safe for returns?

I haven't seen a recent thread on this. Can I still get a full refund from Amazon if I return a monitor within 30 days for any reason? I'm a member of Prime if that helps.

I've been using a CRT at home my entire life so I'm not sure which of the various panel flaws will bother me. I'll start with my best guess and only return it if I can't stand certain things. I just want to have that option available.

Yes, Amazon is excellent with returns. You might not get the shipping fee reimbursed unless there's a defect with the monitor.

Newegg also will take returns on monitors. They have 1 return that is 30 days refund/30 days replacement and then have 1 that is just 30 days replacement. There is no dead pixel policy on these anymore. No I don't work for NE.

so an open box, non-defective monitor returned < 30 days has no restocking fee (assuming it's from amazon proper and not another reseller through amazon)?

im pretty sure the return policy would be different if it were through a reseller

yeah I'm just interested in whether there's a restocking fee on an opened monitor when it's an item thats marked "ships from and sold by Amazon.com"

I asked Amazon Warehouse about their return policy, and they basically pointed me back to Amazon's return policy.

I'm in the process returning a LG 32LK450 because I lost the panel lottery and got a VA panel. I don't think there is any charge but I guess I won't be certain until I see the refund on my CC.

Amazon can ban you for too many returns though, so I'd be wary about using it too often.

seriously? not that i disagree with vendors who would do this as they do lose tons of money on certain customers. but ive never heard of companies actually doing this before.
