I just received the MSI 6600gt agp8x video card in the mail today, and well, i'm loving it, major improvement from the 9600pro. But am i the only one to notice this? I installed Prince of Persia (packaged software bundled with the video card) and when i first tried to run it, it immediately says, Video card not supported! some issues may arise, but the game still runs perfectly. Just thought it was kinda weird....thats all.

It did the same thing to my MSI 6800Nu. Didn't know why, and didn't care. Just Maxed all the settings out, then got bored with 10 minutes (since I hated the game) Uninstalled it, and found something better :)
Its also not a Driver Issue (since I had updated mine before installing the game). I think patching the game might have resolved it had I been so inclined.

you can upgrade your sig ;)

but yeah. ironic. you arent getting the video card for the games anyway

sig updated, and ya, i got the video card for the video card, I never really got to get any heavy duty gaming last night though, so tonight i'll check out the performance in DOOM 3, Farcry, and UT2K4, in UT my recent RAM upgrade helped the best, went from 2 minute load times to like 15 seconds, much better :D.

My 6800GT came with Prince of Persia: SOT as well. I haven't played it, since I had already beaten it previously.

It only says vid card not supported because the game came out way before the 6x00 series, so it doesn't know what the hell they are.

I assumed this was the problem, which really isn't a problem at all. It just seemed very ironic, because they could of just patched the game. Oh, and another thing I notived, my 6600GT box has a qoute on it, I don't remember what it exactly says, but it says something about best performance in the FX series.... that seemed kinda weird.

I don't mean to nit pick, just noticed just things.

LOL Lazy Copywriters working at MSI or a really bad Chenglish translation :D

Reminds me of an inverter package I saw "Inverter almost reaches dumb."

the exact quote is, i qoute ;)

"Power and performance, the two elements every gamer craves, are the heart and soul of the Geforce(tm) FX"

maybe i'm just stupid, but isn't this called the Geforce 6 series, and its predosessor was the Geforce FX?
